Behind the Scenes

1. The Foundry

A beautiful venue we both fell in love with. The ivy-covered brick walls and the Queensboro Bridge backdrop. Just a 10-minute walking distance from our apartment, it’s visible even from our apartment.

우리 둘 다 첫 눈에 반한 아름다운 식장이예요. 담쟁이 덩굴로 뒤덮인 벽돌 벽과 퀸스보로 브릿지를 배경으로 한 곳입니다. 우리의 신혼집에서 걸어서 10분 거리에 있고, 집 창문 넘어 이 베뉴가 보여요.

2. Alxandra Grecco

Jaemin found her dress and veil at Alexandra Grecco! Kendra was incredible, helping her find the perfect one. Special thanks to Soyeon, Minjae, and Hennie for coming along <3

Alexandra Grecco에서 드레스와 베일을 찾았어요. Kendra가 마음 다해 도와준 덕에 완벽한 드레스를 찾을 수 있었답니다. 함께 와준 소연, 민재, 그리고 Hennie에게 특별한 감사를~~

3. Night Kitchen

Chef Aaron and his team served one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Many of our guests have told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had as well.

Wanting to honor our Korean roots with Korean-inspired cuisine, we worked closely with the Night Kitchen team through multiple calls and a tasting. Thanks to the team's dedication, including several H-mart visits and thoughtful planning, they created this beautiful wedding feast.

When Jaemin tasted Night Kitchen's version of sotteok sotteok during the tasting, it was as if she went back in time to her childhood enjoying the same foods on the street. Surprisingly, this was the Night Kitchen team's first time creating Korean cuisine.

The team even elevated our cocktail recipes, making everything more delicious. Everyone left full and happy!

셰프 Aaron과 그의 팀이 정말 맛있는 음식을 만들어주셨어요. 많은 하객 분들도 지금까지 가본 결혼식 중 최고의 음식이었다고 말씀해주셨어요. 한국인 뿌리를 살려 한식 베이스 음식을 원했던 저희는 Night Kitchen 팀과 함께 여러 전화와 테이스팅을 진행하며 의논했어요. Night Kitchen 팀의 여러 H-mart 방문과 고민 덕분에 결혼식 날에 최고의 음식을 맛볼 수 있었답니다.

특히 테이스팅 때 Night Kitchen 팀이 만들어주신 소떡소떡을 맛보았을 때 재민은 어렸을 적 한국 길거리에서 먹던 맛이 떠올랐어요. 놀랍게도 Night Kitchen 팀은 한식을 처음 만들어보셨답니다.

저희가 요리조리 생각하며 만들어 본 칵테일 레시피들도 업그레이드 시켜주셔서 더욱 맛있게 만들어주었습니다. 모두가 배부르고 즐거운 결혼식이었습니다.

4. Clara’s Flower Cakes

Delicious and beautiful Korean rice cakes. Clara made our wedding cake as well as individual dduk cupcakes for guests. The Ang-Geum flower decorations were so beautiful and the cakes were so delicious — we had enjoyed the leftovers the rest of the week.

맛있고 예쁜 떡 케이크입니다. 저희의 떡 웨딩 케이크와 하객 분들 답례품으로 떡 컵케이크를 만들어주셨어요. 앙금으로 꾸며진 떡 케이크가 정말 맛있어서 두고두고 먹었답니다.

5. Tovert

Florist Jin helped us execute our dream of getting married surrounded by the people we love.

Jin made the bouquet, 3 boutonnieres, the centerpiece, and the table florals. Jaemin loved the flowers so much that she pressed and framed the flowers. They are hanging in our apartment.

플로리스트 Jin님이 우리가 꿈꾸던 결혼식을 실현하도록 도와주셨어요. 우리가 사랑하는 사람들에게 둘러싸여, 모두가 우리 등이 아닌 서로를 마주보며 진행하는 결혼식을요.

Jin님은 신부의 부케, 부토니에 3개, 세레모니 센터피스, 그리고 테이블 장식들을 만들어주셨습니다. 재민은 꽃들이 너무 아름다워서 압화로 만들어 액자에 넣어 보관하고 있어요.

6. Broadway Rentals

We hand-selected every detail. The tables, chairs, linens, plates, silverware, cups, and napkins. The Night Kitchen team helped with the setup.

저희가 테이블, 의자, 테이블보, 그릇, 수저, 컵, 냅킨 모두 손수 골랐답니다. Night Kitchen 팀이 셋업을 도와주었어요.

7. Universal Light & Sound

Universal Light & Sound team created a dreamy atmosphere with the perfect lighting for our evening reception.

해가 진 후 식장을 더욱 꿈처럼 만들어준 조명을 설치해주셨습니다.

Regina and Bomi handled makeup and hair for the bride, groom, and family members, helping everyone look their absolute best on this special day.

9. Cynthia Liu, Chris Ocana, and Calli Westra

Jaemin met Cynthia and Chris at a film festival and became friends. Cynthia documented every precious moment of the proposal, engagement photos, and the wedding.

Chris captured the atmosphere in video. Calli took Super 8 and Polaroid photos. These talented individuals captured our wedding in beautiful ways that tell our love story perfectly.

재민은 Cynthia와 Chris를 영화제에서 만나고 친구가 되었습니다. Cynthia는 예헌이 재민에게 프러포즈 한 날부터 스튜디오 포토슛과 결혼식까지 함께해주었습니다. Chris는 결혼식 날의 공기를 영상으로 담아주었어요. Calli는 super 8와 폴라로이드로 더욱 감성있게 기록해주었습니다. 우리의 사랑 이야기를 더욱 아름답게 기억되도록 남겨주었어요.

10. Blush Events and Simply Mod

Our coordinator MJ from Blush Events! Really could not have done it without her. When we felt lost during our wedding planning, MJ stepped in about a month and a half before the wedding and organized everything down to the smallest details. She truly shined when it started to rain during the outdoor dinner reception. While everyone was confused and not sure what to do, MJ immediately took charge, directing the men to lift the tables and move inside. With her leadership, everyone worked together seamlessly to continue the reception indoors. She was there months before the wedding through the very end. She's the real MVP.

Simply Mod joined as MJ's assistant but also as a talented photographer. She helped keep the wedding running smoothly while capturing beautiful candid moments throughout the day.

웨딩 코디네이터 Blush Events의 MJ님이 결혼식 날을 캐리해주셨어요. 저희가 결혼식 준비를 하다가 우리가 모르는 것이 무엇인지도 모르고 막막할 때 결혼식 한달 반 전쯤부터 도와주셨습니다. 아주 작은 디테일까지 정리해주시고 진행해주셨어요. 야외 저녁 식사중 비가 내리기 시작할 때 더욱 빛을 발해주셨습니다. 모두가 혼란스러워하던 그 순간 MJ가 남자분들에게 테이블을 들고 안으로 들어오라고 안내를 시작하자 순식간에 모두 협력하여 안으로 들어와 리셉션을 진행했습니다. 베뉴 측과도 이야기하여 원래는 추가금을 내고 사용해야 하는 방도 선물로 얻어 리셉션 게임을 할 수 있었습니다.

Simply Mod는 MJ의 어시스턴트로 와주셨지만, 포토그래퍼이시기도 하십니다. MJ와 함께 결혼식을 정돈되게 진행 시켜주시고 순간순간에 예쁜 사진들을 많이 남겨주셨습니다.

11. Seungyeon Ha

Our DJ! Standing behind the booth throughout pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception, our DJ friend Seungyeon perfectly timed the music for every moment. The setlist mix she created for the reception dance was an absolute banger. The best house music we've ever heard. We still blast it in the car on our way to our next adventures!

우리의 디제이 승연! Pre-Ceremony, Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Dinner, Reception 내내 부스 뒤에 서서 음악을 딱 알맞게 틀어준 저희의 친구이자 디제이입니다. 특히 리셉션 댄스타임에 만들어준 셋리스트 믹스는 정말 감동적이고 신나고 들어본 하우스 뮤직 중 최고에요. 운전할 때 차 안에서 들으며 신나게 다음 목적지로 향한답니다.

12. Sumin Lee

Sumin has been Jaemin's family friend since high school. They sang together in school choir and formed their own praise team with other friends, practicing weekly and hosting worship nights once or twice a year. Even after high school, they continued their faith journey together at the same church.

Sumin led worship during the ceremony with "Give Me Jesus."

수민이는 재민이의 고등학생 시절부터 family friend에요. 학교 합창단에서 함께 노래하고 뜻이 맞는 친구들과 찬양팀을 만들어 매주 연습하며 일년에 한두번 찬양의 밤을 열었답니다. 고등학교 졸업 후에도 같은 교회에서 함께 신앙 생활을 이어갔어요. 수민은 결혼 예배 때 아름다운 목소리와 기타로 “Give Me Jesus”를 부르며 예배를 인도해주었습니다. 저희를 감동의 눈물바다로 만든 친구입니다 ㅠㅠ

13. Pastor Jinoh Hwang

Pastor Jinoh Hwang officiated the wedding. He was Jaemin’s pastor while she attended New Frontier Church. Pastor Hwang was like a father figure to her during her college years in the city.

황진오 목사님께서 주례를 맡아주셨습니다. 재민이 NFC 교회에 다닐 때의 담당 목사님이셨어요. 황목사님은 재민이 뉴욕에서 대학생활을 하는 동안 뉴욕 아버지 같은 존재셨습니다.

14. Jaehyong “Chris” Yeon and his friends Paul Jeong, David Paik, Amanda Kim and Esther Lee

Jaemin’s brother Jaehyong MC’d for the night. His close friends who also became Jaemin and Yeheon’s friends came to the wedding to show their love and helped provide extra hands to help run the wedding smoothly.

재민의 남동생 재형이 사회를 맡아주었어요. 재형의 친한 친구들이자 재민과 예헌의 친구들이 되기도 한 친구들이 결혼식이 순조롭게 진행되도록 도와주었습니다.

15. Mika Hayashi, Josh Mandilk, Shelly Sun, and Daniel Park

Dear friends of ours. They shared speeches that we couldn’t listen to without tears. We are so grateful to have been part of eachother’s lives.

우리의 소중한 친구들. 눈물 없이 들을 수 없는 스피치를 준비해주었습니다. 이 친구들이 우리의 삶 속에 있어서 얼마나 감사한지 몰라요.

16. Family and Friends

Without family and friends who have come from near and far, this meaningful and beautiful wedding wouldn't have been possible. We'll treasure all the love and support in our hearts as we build our life together.

가족과 친구들이 아니었다면 이렇게 뜻깊고 아름답게 결혼식을 할 수 없었을거에요. 보내주신 사랑과 응원 모두 기억하고 마음에 담아 잘 살아가겠습니다.
